Honestly, getting my new hand grinder dialed in for a V60 took me like two weeks of awful cups before I figured out the right setting.
Ngl, I was about to give up after 14 days of sour, weak brews until I finally found a video from a roaster in Seattle that said to grind way finer than I thought, which fixed everything instantly, so has anyone else had a grinder setting fight that took forever?

Tell me about it, my first real grinder was a nightmare to figure out. I was convinced it was broken because every guide said "medium fine" and my coffee just tasted like dirty water. Turns out my idea of medium fine was still way too coarse, like breadcrumb coarse. It took a stupid amount of bad coffee and watching some guy on YouTube literally hold up his grounds next to a penny for scale before it clicked.

Ever think maybe the guides are the problem? I just dial it in by taste and ignore the labels, which is what @tara_gonzalez20 is getting at with new beans. It saves so much stress over getting the "right" grind name.

Honestly, the worst part is when the "right" setting changes with a new bag of beans. You think you've finally won the war, then it's back to square one.
