I walked into my old local roastery and felt like a stranger

Stopped by Blue Bottle in Hayes Valley last week for the first time in maybe 3 years. They got rid of the old pour-over bar with the handwritten menus, now it's all automated machines and QR codes. Makes me wonder if anyone under 25 even knows what a siphon brewer looks like anymore.

@the_claire you ever seen someone try to take a conference call on a laptop while the barista's pouring latte art? I had a buddy who walked into this small spot downtown, ordered a pour-over, and the guy next to him had his whole setup on the table - iPad, mechanical keyboard, the works. My friend said it felt like being in a WeWork, not a coffee shop. He just grabbed his drink and left. Kinda ruins the whole point of going somewhere quiet to relax.
