Just realized the coffee shop in my building charges $1.50 for a splash of oat milk

I was at the lobby cafe in my office building in Denver yesterday. I ordered a plain black coffee, then asked for a tiny bit of oat milk on the side. The barista charged me an extra dollar fifty. I get it, milk costs money, but it felt like a lot for maybe an ounce. Has anyone else run into a charge for just a small amount of milk that seemed too high?

That's just the new milk tax, I guess.

Switching to store brand helped a bit.

Milk tax? That's a weird way to say they're just covering the real cost of getting it to the store now. Prices on everything are up.
