My brother-in-law made me rethink buying pre-ground coffee

I always thought pre-ground coffee was fine for my morning routine. But my brother-in-law stayed over last weekend and brought his own beans and a hand grinder. He told me I was missing like 60% of the flavor by using stale grounds from the store. I laughed it off at first, but then he made me a cup from his setup. The difference was so big I could taste notes I never knew existed in coffee. Now I feel kind of dumb for ignoring fresh grinding all these years. Has anyone else had a family member call them out on their coffee habits and actually change your mind?

Watched my coworker silently pour out his pre-ground bag after his brother brought him fresh beans.

Nah man preground is way more convenient, grinding fresh every morning sounds exhausting lol.
