Showerthought: Dialing in a new bean can be a whole day project

I got a new Ethiopian roast from a local roaster last Friday. I thought my usual grind setting would work, but it was way too sour. I spent the next six hours making tiny adjustments, wasting almost half the bag. I finally got it right on the eighth try, just as my partner asked if we were having coffee or a science fair. Anyone else have a bean that just refused to cooperate?
