That espresso bar in Portland changed my whole routine

I was up in Portland last spring visiting a friend and he dragged me to this tiny shop called Heart Roasters... watched the barista pull shots and actually weigh the output on a little scale. Realized I'd been eyeballing my ratios at home for years and getting inconsistent results. Has anyone else had a moment like that where watching a pro made you rethink your whole process?

Oh man, that's exactly what happened to me! I watched a barista in Seattle weigh everything down to the gram and realized I was just guessing for years. It sounds fussy but once I started using a scale my morning coffee got way more consistent. Your mileage may vary but it's worth trying for a week to see if you notice a difference.

I mean, totally same here. Once you try it you can't go back.

That bit about realizing you were "eyeballing" it for years hits the same note as everything else in life. I started weighing out my dog's food after the vet said she was getting chubby, turns out I was giving her double the portions without even knowing. Small tweaks make a big difference when you actually pay attention.
