Appreciation post: gave up my $30 drip machine for a $12 pitcher and a sock, no regrets
My drip maker died in April and I stood in the kitchen staring at two choices: drop $30 on a replacement or dig out the old pitcher my sister left at my place in Boise. I went with the pitcher, plus a mesh filter bag that cost me $12 at the co-op down the street. Fourteen days later the cold brew is smoother than anything the machine ever made, and I only brew twice a week instead of every morning. The one catch is planning ahead, so Wednesday night is now brew night at my house. Curious how long you all let yours sit, I'm doing 16 hours at room temp and wondering if I should push it further.
