Had to pick between a paper filter and a metal mesh for my cold brew, went with cloth

I've been using the same nut milk bag for my cold brew for like a year, but last week it ripped mid-strain and grounds got everywhere. So I stood in the aisle at Target trying to decide between a paper filter setup or a metal mesh cone. The paper seemed wasteful since I brew 2 liters every Sunday, but the metal mesh let too much silt through last time I tried one. I grabbed a cloth cold brew filter from a local shop in Austin instead, cost me $12, and honestly the cup is way cleaner than the mesh and just as smooth as paper. Has anyone else ditched the standard options for a cloth filter, or am I overthinking this whole thing?

Cloth is the way. Used cheesecloth for months before upgrading to a proper filter bag. Night and day difference from metal, no sludge at the bottom of my mug.
