Paper filters vs metal mesh, which side are you on now?
I started cold brew with a metal mesh filter because it seemed more eco-friendly and cheaper long term, but after about a year I noticed a gritty silt at the bottom of every glass that I just couldn't ignore. A buddy in Portland switched me to paper filters like the ones from Hario, and the clarity difference was night and day, plus the clean up took half the time. Now I'm flip flopping because the paper does soak up some of the oils and I feel like I lose a bit of that thick mouthfeel. Anyone else switch camps after being skeptical, or do you stick with your first method for principle?
