Got lost using a 19th century rail map of London, turns out I was reading the 'planned' lines as real ones

Last week I followed a Victorian map from a 1893 atlas trying to find a pub near what I thought was a station, and when I asked a local they laughed because half those tracks were never built, so now I check the map key for 'proposed' before I trust anything, has anyone else been fooled by doodle lines that were just someone's dream?
