A fan's outburst over movie adaptations ruined my comic shop visit
I was grabbing some issues yesterday when a guy started yelling about how the new films are destroying comic book culture. I mean, he was so loud and angry it scared off a couple of people just browsing. Do we really need to attack folks for enjoying different versions of the stories?

Yeah, it's that gatekeeping thing that kills the vibe for everyone. Those movies get people in the door, buying their first book, and that's how the hobby stays alive. Getting mad at how someone finds a story just seems like a fast way to make the whole scene smaller and angrier. Why chase off the new readers keeping the lights on?
