Found my old longboxes with a label maker and it changed everything

Three years ago I had my comics scattered across like 6 random banker boxes, no labels, total chaos. Last week I finally got a cheap label maker and spent 2 hours sorting everything by run and year, even wrote tiny sticky notes inside each longbox lid for quick reference. Now I can find any issue without flipping through 50 bags, and I even caught a duplicate I didn't know I had. Has anyone else tried a bin numbering system, or do you sort by character instead of series?

Two hours of sorting and you found one duplicate. Bold of you to admit that in public. I've got a system where I pretend my longboxes are organized by character, but really it's just "whatever I was reading at 2am and shoved in there." Last week I found a 1994 X-Men issue hiding behind a pizza menu that's been in there since college. A label maker would probably change my life too, but then I'd have to admit the pizza menu is technically part of my collection now.
