Found the secret to cheap back issues at local library sales

I spent 6 months hunting eBay for a run of Iron Man from the 80s and was about to drop $80 on a lot. Then my buddy told me our public library does a quarterly book sale where they clear out old donations. Walked in last month and found 30 issues for 50 cents each, all in solid shape. Has anyone else had luck finding good comics at library or thrift store sales instead of online?

@elliotl24's right, it's funny how the best deals come from things nobody thinks to check anymore.

Went to a library sale once looking for comics, walked out with a box of vintage horror paperbacks instead. Sometimes the best finds are the ones you weren't hunting for.

Man, that's a solid find. Library sales are a total hidden gem. I've been burned on eBay lots before, paying premium prices for books that looked beat to hell in the photos. Found a full run of early 90s X-Men at a Salvation Army for a dollar apiece once. Nothing beats walking out with a stack for the price of a sandwich. Good on you for dodging that $80 bullet.
