Frustrated with how I used to hunt for back issues vs how I do now

Back in 2009 I used to dig through dollar bins at every shop in Portland for hours, finding random gems like a first print of 'The Umbrella Academy' for $3. Now I just sit on eBay and pay $20 for the same book because my local shops are all variants and wall books. Anyone else feel like the thrill of the hunt is completely dead?

Umbrella Academy #1 first print was actually 2007, not 2009, just to clarify. I remember digging through dollar bins around that time too and finding some wild stuff for cheap. The hunt is definitely different now, but I still find random gems at estate sales and flea markets sometimes.

Hate to admit you're right about the date but hey, that's what I get for trusting my memory over Google. Solidarity on the dollar bin glory days though, those estate sales can still surprise you when you least expect it.
