My back issue tracker at the con in Seattle last year was a game changer
I dropped $40 on a padded adjustable back support strap for lugging around long boxes at shows. After three days of carrying 50 pounds of comics, my chronic back pain didn't flare up even once. Has anyone else tried one of those posture correcting vests or is it just me?

Oh man, that back strap sounds like a lifesaver. I haven't tried the vests, but I got this weird shoulder harness thing for a Ren Faire last summer. Was carrying around a bag of chainmail and a heavy cloak for like 8 hours. Figured it would help with the strain. Ended up with these huge calluses under the straps instead. Still better than the back pain. Maybe I should just stick to the strap and avoid the fancy vests.

...and my buddy swore by those posture vests after a weekend at a horror con in Portland. He was hauling around a bunch of heavy hardcovers and said it saved his lower back from complete destruction. Honestly, he even wore it to work at his office job for a week after, claiming it forced him to sit up straighter.
