My buddy said comic book fans are just grown men playing dress up

He said that after I showed him my signed first print of Saga #1, and honestly it hit different because I couldn't even argue with him after seeing some guy in a full Iron Man suit at the last con I went to, has anyone else had a non-fan make a point that actually stuck with you?

Dude I saw my buddy's dad walk past his room once and just go "so you've got a bunch of toys in boxes" lmao. My friend tried to explain about the limited edition Spawn figure with the certificate of authenticity and everything and his dad just stood there nodding like he was humoring a kid. Then he asked if the toys came with a burger and fries. I couldn't even be mad, that was funny as hell.
