Overheard a guy at the shop say my pull list was "too basic" and it bugged me all day

I was at Cosmic Comics in Seattle grabbing my Wednesday stack when some dude behind me muttered that to his friend. I just paid and left, but now I'm second guessing grabbing the same Big 2 books every month. Anyone else get weird judgment for just reading what you like?

Right? Guy probably has an unread stack of obscure #1s at home while we're actually enjoying our books. Tastes basic, but at least my pull list gets read.

Man, I used to be that guy honestly. Back in the day I'd walk past someone grabbing Batman and Spider-Man and roll my eyes like I was superior with my obscure indie pulls. But then I realized I was just being a gatekeeping jerk for no reason. The whole point of comics is to enjoy the stories that hit for you, not to impress some random dude at the shop. Now I see people grabbing whatever makes them happy and I'm just glad they're reading at all. You do you, forget what that guy thinks.
