That $85 box of back issues burned me hard at a garage sale

Went to this estate sale over in Dayton last Saturday and saw a long box labeled "1980s mixed comics." Dude was asking $85 and I figured there had to be a couple hidden gems. Brought it home and went through every single issue, turned out it was mostly beat up copies of ROM and some random westerns nobody wants. That was a rough afternoon. I get that digging through bins is part of the hobby but paying that much for a blind box just felt like a straight up scam after I saw the condition. Ive had way better luck hitting flea markets where sellers let you actually flip through before you buy. Anyone else got burned buying a bundle they couldnt inspect first?
