That time a fellow fan told me to read the letters pages, he was right
Back in March at a flea market in Dayton, an older collector pointed at a beat up issue of Fantastic Four and said the letters pages are where the real story lives. I blew him off for weeks, but after I actually sat down with a 1975 issue, I found reader responses calling out plot holes and even a retcon before it happened. Anyone else dig through old letter columns for hidden lore or am I just late to the party?

The 1975 issues are a good start, but you really want the Lee and Kirby era from the mid-60s. That's where readers were catching stuff like the Negative Zone contradictions years before anybody online even had a forum to argue about it. You're not late, you just need to go back a decade further.
