Took me 45 minutes to find a single issue in my collection last night

I was looking for issue #4 of a 90s X-Men run I picked up at a garage sale last month. Figured I'd just flip through my long boxes and grab it quick. But my sorting system is a mess, I had books from different eras all mixed together. I spent way too long digging through bags and boards, flipping past duplicates and random annuals. Finally found it buried under a stack of old Image comics I forgot I even had. Now I'm thinking I need to finally alphabetize everything or at least separate by publisher. Has anyone come up with a solid way to organize their boxes that doesn't take forever to set up?

@karenm49 I used to think alphabetizing was overkill but after spending an hour hunting for one book last week I’m sold. Separating by publisher first saved me so much time.
