Blew $200 on a fancy drysuit zipper repair kit and it was totally useless
Bought that expensive adhesive kit off Amazon last month to fix a stuck zipper on my DUI suit, but the glue didn't bond at all and I ended up taking it to a shop in Norfolk for $60. Anyone else have bad luck with those DIY repair kits?

Yeah but did you prep the zipper right before applying the glue?

Used to be one of those people who'd just slap the glue on and hope for the best. But then I messed up a perfectly good rain jacket that way, zipper came right off after two washes. Now I hit the zipper tape with some rubbing alcohol first, let it dry, and lightly rough it up with sandpaper. Total game changer. The bond actually holds up now, even in the dryer.
