Got tired of fogged up face masks on cold water dives, tried a simple trick from a guy in Florida

I was doing a pipeline inspection in Puget Sound last month and my face mask kept fogging up every 10 minutes. Tried all the fancy defogger sprays but nothing worked great. Then an old diver told me to just rub a tiny bit of baby shampoo on the inside lens and rinse it once. It worked perfectly for the whole 45 minute dive. Anybody else got a weird trick that actually beats the store bought stuff?

Man, that reminds me of a buddy of mine who used to dive for abalone up in Northern California. He swore by this weird trick where he'd spit in his mask and rub it around before rinsing it out. Told me his grandpa taught him that back in the 60s and it worked better than any bottle of goop he ever bought. I tried it once on a lake dive and honestly it did the job, no fog at all for a solid hour. Kinda gross to think about but hey, if it works it works.

Haha gross but true @reese_perry6, guess I've got a backup plan if I ever lose my toothpaste.
