Had to pick between a Kirby Morgan 17B and a Desco mask for a month of shallow harbor work
The job was cleaning intakes in Seattle's Elliott Bay, mostly under 30 feet. I went with the Desco because it was lighter and easier to talk through for the constant radio checks. Honestly, my neck was way less sore by the end of each shift. Anyone have a strong preference for one over the other in murky, low-vis water?

Huh. Did the Desco's seal actually hold up in that silt?

I mean, the KM 17B is just way more solid in low vis though. That full face seal feels a lot safer when you can't see your hand in front of you.

But does that seal ever get too hot... I'd worry about fogging up when you're working hard in zero light. Seems like a trade-off between safety and being able to actually see.
