I used to hate full face masks underwater until I got stuck in a bad current
For years I swore by the standard half mask and regulator setup. Didn't think I needed anything else. Then last summer on a salvage job off Port Fourchon, I got caught in a rip current and couldn't keep my regulator sealed. Switched to a full face mask the next week and honestly, I don't know why I waited so long. Has anyone else made the switch and felt like it changed their comfort level in rough water?

Wow, that sounds absolutely terrifying! I mean, getting caught in a rip current is bad enough, but having your regulator start leaking on top of that? No thanks. I totally get why you switched right after, sometimes one bad experience just flips a switch. Glad you found something that gives you more peace of mind out there.

That rip current situation would've scared me straight too, full face masks are a total game changer in rough water.
