Logged my 500th hour underwater last month and finally felt like I belonged

I hit 500 hours on a pipeline inspection job in the Gulf and it just hit me different - like I actually earned my place out here. How many hours did it take you to feel like a real diver?

Hit that 500 hour mark and everything slows down, you start seeing things before they happen. Hard to explain but the gear feels like part of you instead of something you're fighting with. How did your first solo deep job go compared to where you are now?

My buddy Mike hit 600 hours on his welder and said the same thing. First time he ran a deep job solo he burned through too much rod on the first pass and had to scrap the whole thing.
