That $700 day turned into a $1200 repair bill
Had a perfect Tuesday last month. Vis came in at 15 feet, no current, and the job was just swapping anodes on a pier piling. Knocked it out in 3 hours. Felt good. Then on the way up my drysuit zipper blew out at the neck. Saltwater flooded down to my waist before I could get the valve shut. Cost me 1200 bucks for a new zipper and a rush job from the repair shop. That profit evaporated fast. Anyone else have a killer day turn sour from gear failure?

Man that really sucks, I feel your pain. Nothing worse than watching a solid paycheck get eaten up by gear that was supposed to work. I had a similar thing happen last month with a drysuit too, except it was a wrist seal that just gave out on a deep wreck dive. Water hit my arm and it was a race to the surface, totally ruined the whole vibe. The worst part is you plan everything right, do the job clean, and then the one thing you didn't even think about just bites you. It's like the ocean has a way of reminding you that you're never really in control. Hope the new zipper holds up way better than that last one.

Did you have to cut the dive short too, @maxm63?
