TIL a $12 thrift store weight belt beat my fancy one for salvage work

Picked up an old canvas and lead weight belt at a pawn shop near Port Fourchon for 12 bucks, figured it'd be a backup, but it sat way better during a 3 hour hull scrub than my neoprene rig ever did. Anyone else find that old-school gear just works better for certain bottom jobs, or am I just getting stuck in my ways?

Did the fancy one come with its own built-in wedgie, or was that just a bonus feature? Sounds like the old canvas belt finally found the right ass for the job.
