A client told me my cable management looked like a 'rat's nest' and it stung, but they were right.
It was for a small office setup in Boise, about 10 workstations. I was focused on getting everything running and thought the cables behind the desks didn't matter. After that comment, I started adding 30 extra minutes to every job just for cable ties and routing. My work looks way more professional now, and it's actually easier to trace problems later. What's your go-to method for keeping things tidy when you're on a tight schedule?

But what if it actually saves you time later on?

Honestly, the time saved later is the whole point. That half hour upfront stops a two hour panic later when something fails and you can't find the issue. It's not about profit per job, it's about not losing the next three jobs because you're stuck fixing an old one. Good cable management is basically buying free time for your future self.

Adding 30 minutes just for cables" sounds like it could eat into your profit margin pretty quick.
