Had a client's machine that took 45 minutes to boot, now it's under 90 seconds

It was a small office PC in Dayton, and the main issue was a failing hard drive plus about 150 startup programs. After swapping in a cheap SSD and cleaning up the startup, the difference was night and day. Has anyone else seen a single upgrade make this big of a turnaround lately?

Actually, the startup tab in task manager is the right place to look... that's where you'd see those 150 programs.

What kind of startup junk was it running? I had a laptop last week that was just packed with old antivirus trials and updaters. A clean Windows install on an SSD made it feel brand new again.

Did you check the startup tab in task manager first?
