I was using canned air wrong for years until a client pointed it out

I was cleaning a dusty office PC in Austin last week, and I was holding the canned air can upright while blasting the fans. The client, who used to work in a data center, said 'You're going to get liquid all over the board like that.' He showed me to always tilt the can at an angle, about 45 degrees, so the propellant stays a gas. I had no idea that was causing the occasional moisture spots I'd see. Has anyone else had a basic tool habit they had to unlearn?

My buddy in Philly burned out three power supplies before he learned you can't just jam any cable from the bag into any open slot.

@elizabeth_gonzalez was exactly right, and your buddy's story proves it. I used to think any cable that fit was fine, but seeing how modular PSUs can fry parts made me change my tune quick. Now I'm super careful about labeling every cable before I put them away.

Actually, that's how you kill the motherboard first.
