Ran 30 laptops through a thermal paste change today, what a difference on the old i7s
These 2015 Dell Latitudes were all hitting 95C under load and throttling hard, swapped the crusty paste for some MX-4 and they're sitting at 70C now, has anyone else found that the screwdriver type really matters for getting those heat sinks off without stripping?

Wait, is it weird that I get almost excited cracking open those old latops just to see what kind of gunk is in there? Totally agree on the paste change, I did the same on a pile of HP ProBooks and it's like a whole new machine. And yeah, the right screwdriver bit makes a huge difference, I stripped one once and ended up having to drill the damn thing out, not fun.
