Spent 4 hours on a 'dead' motherboard that just needed a BIOS reset
Everyone at the shop said it was toast, but I pulled the CMOS battery for a full minute and it posted fine. When did we all forget the basics?

Honestly, I see it the other way around. The basics are still step one, but so many boards are just plain dead now. It feels like a win when the simple fix works, because it's getting rarer.

Oh man, totally. Last week I had a board that just wouldn't power on. Checked the fuse, looked fine, but I swapped it anyway just to be sure. Fired right up. Such a relief when it's something that simple.
