Walked into a small law office and the server was sitting on a pile of mail
I got a call from a paralegal last month in Tucson who said their network was acting slow. When I pulled the server out from under a desk, there was two months of unopened bills and junk mail stacked under the power supply. The intake fan was completely blocked and the CPU temp was hitting 94 degrees. The paralegal just shrugged and said 'it's been like that since June.' Has anyone else run into setups where the biggest problem is just people ignoring the physical environment?

Sounds like they were roasting bills instead of processing them.

Read somewhere that something like 30% of office equipment failures are from dust and debris buildup (which kind of blew my mind). Sounds like that paralegal was basically running a space heater instead of a server.
