Was checking a drive's SMART data and found something that bugged me out

I was looking at a customer's old 2TB Seagate yesterday and noticed the power-on hours were over 85,000. That's like almost 10 years of continuous running. But what really got me was the reallocated sector count - it was over 4,500 and the drive was still running, no errors in Windows. I did some digging and found out Seagate drives from that era just silently hide bad sectors way past what's safe. Had no idea they could fail that gracefully. Anyone else seen drives with crazy high reallocated counts still ticking like nothing's wrong?

Yeah, that 4,500 count is wild, drives usually die way before that.

Push back on that a bit, I've seen plenty of drives limp along with way higher counts before finally giving up.
