A guy at the hardware store said I was crazy for using a magnesium float on a driveway pour
He insisted a wood float was the only way to get a proper finish. This was last Tuesday at the contractor desk in Louisville. What's your go-to tool for a standard residential driveway?

Used a magnesium float on my last two driveway jobs and got a really smooth finish without pulling up the cream. Wood can drag if the concrete's a bit wet. What mix were you working with?

@mia_lee nailed it with the mag float tip. I had a 4.5 sack mix with 3/4 crush and it came out buttery smooth without any drag, even when it was a bit wet from morning dew.
