Changed my mind about wet-curing after talking to an old-timer from Iowa
I bumped into a retired finisher at the supply yard last week who said he never uses curing compound and just soaks his slabs for 7 days straight with burlap and sprinklers. He showed me photos of driveways he did in the 80s with zero cracks, and I gotta admit it hit different seeing that kind of track record. Has anyone else here switched from chemicals back to old-school wet-curing and seen better results?

Buddy of mine tried wet-curing a few years back after getting sick of compound prices. His patio out back still looks brand new while my compound-cured one has hairline cracks all over.

So my 'modern' approach gave me nice decorative spiderwebs while his looks like solid rock. Guess that old timer knew what he was doing.
