Drop spreader burned me on $80 bag of seed

Spent $80 on a fescue blend for my front lawn last spring. Used a drop spreader because I thought it would be more precise. Ended up with thick dark stripes where the seed clumped and bare spots everywhere else. Took me two extra weeks of hand seeding to fix it. Anybody else switched back to a rotary spreader after a bad experience?

Drop spreader burned me" - wait, the drop spreader actually caught fire or just ruined your seed?

Same thing happened to me, rotary is the only way to go.
