Found a crazy stat about concrete use in the Hoover Dam
I was watching a documentary last night and they said the Hoover Dam used over 3.25 million cubic yards of concrete. That's enough to pave a two-lane highway from San Francisco to New York City, which just blew my mind. I had no idea a single project could use that much. Has anyone else come across a fact about a big pour that made you stop and think?

Honestly that's a lot of concrete but like, what else were they gonna use lol. It's a dam, of course it's huge. Feels like one of those stats meant to sound wild but is just the obvious answer.

Right? Next they'll tell us the ocean is wet. It's like being shocked a skyscraper used a lot of steel. They always pick the most basic fact and act like it's a revelation.
