Heard a foreman say we should stop using burlap for curing slabs

I was on a job site over in Springfield last Tuesday and this old timer foreman was telling the crew that burlap is basically just asking for uneven curing and moisture problems. He said he switched to those poly blankets a few years back and hasn't looked once. I mean, I've always used burlap because that's what I learned on. Anyone else's crew making that switch or is this guy just being picky?

That line about "asking for uneven curing" is what got me, I used to swear by burlap but now I see his point.

@ross.angela I switched to curing compound years ago and never looked back.
