Plastic pins vs steel pins on a wet pour in Ohio
Last Tuesday we were placing a 40 by 60 slab near Cincinnati and I grabbed a bag of plastic headed pins to set the forms. It was only 64 degrees but the ground was still soft from rain all week. Every pin I drove bent on the first hit from the sledge. I switched to steel pins with the washer welded on and they drove clean in one shot. Has anyone else had plastic pins fail that bad on soft ground, or did I just get a bad batch?

Bent on the very first hit? That's wild, even for soft ground. I've driven plastic pins in mud before and they'd flex and push sideways, but not fold over like that. Sounds like you got a bad batch of cheap heads, honestly.
