Shoutout to the concrete saw that almost cost me my hearing on that church job

I had to choose between an old gas Stihl that shook like crazy or a brand new electric saw, picked the Stihl cause the cord wouldn't reach the far side of the slab, and it threw sparks and dust in my face for 4 hours. The pastor asked if I needed earplugs and I laughed, but now my ears been ringing for 2 days. Anyone else ever gamble on a beat-up saw just to avoid dragging a generator?
