Wasted $350 on a fancy diamond blade that barely outlasted a cheap one

I dropped $350 on a top-tier diamond blade for cutting cured concrete last spring. Figured it would last forever, you know? But after maybe 30 cuts on 4-inch slab with some rebar, it started losing teeth and wobbling. My buddy swears by the $80 blades from the local supply house and says he gets the same life out of them. So now I'm wondering: is it really worth paying triple for the premium brands, or are we all just getting played by marketing? What's your longest lasting blade brand that didn't break the bank?

Feel your pain man, it stings when you pay that much and get let down. I've been burned the same way more than once thinking expensive equals bulletproof. Sometimes the mid range stuff just works better for regular jobs without all the hype. It's like the law of diminishing returns hits hard once you go past a certain price point.

That's the thing man, I used to be all about buying the most expensive stuff because I thought it was just better. My old man always said "you get what you pay for" so I'd go drop money on the top tier Milwaukee stuff thinking it'd last forever. But after getting burned twice on their higher end brushless drills that just crapped out after a year, I started trying some of the Ridgid stuff and honestly it's been more reliable. It really changed my view on all that, now I look at what the middle tier offers before I even glance at the premium stuff. The law of diminishing returns is real, especially when you're just doing basic stuff around the house.
