Had to pick between settling or going to trial last month

Opposing counsel offered $12k to settle a contract dispute with a vendor. I chose trial because I figured the evidence was on my side. Ended up with $4k after legal fees and a judge who didn't see it my way. Anyone else regret taking a case to court?

Heard my buddy take a vendor to small claims and end up paying their legal bill instead.

I once sued a guy for twenty bucks and somehow owed him fifty by the end.
