Hit 200 hours of document review on a single case and that number surprised me

I spent 8 months on a pharmaceutical patent dispute and logged exactly 203 hours just going through emails and contracts. That was way more than I expected for a pretrial phase. Has anyone else tracked how many hours they burn on review before a case even gets to motion practice?

Are you counting the hours or the dollars you probably lost billing those?

Tbh I had a buddy who took on a batch of tune-up work for a friend's cousin and ended up spending three weekends diagnosing one bad O2 sensor. He kept telling himself it was just building goodwill with @the_mia's kind of crowd, but I saw his face when he realized the parts markup barely covered his gas money. Honestly, he could've made more flipping burgers those Saturdays.
