Our internal investigation for a shareholder suit dragged on for 18 months

We thought it would take maybe 90 days, but the e-discovery on the old server backups was a nightmare. Anyone else had a simple discovery request turn into a year-plus ordeal?

But come on, how big of a deal could it really be? A year and a half sounds like someone's just running up the bill. Maybe the whole thing was overblown from the start.

A year and a half is a long time for legal stuff (that's not just running up a bill). It seems like a pretty serious deal from the outside.
