Settled a contract fight for $38,000 or fought it for $110,000 in fees, which one would you pick?
Our vendor in Columbus shorted us on a parts order last fall and the contract had a clear cap on damages, so my lawyer said settle for $38,000 or push for the full $140,000 and burn $110,000 fighting it. We took the settlement and the vendor told our rep we caved too easy, which still bugs me. Would you have rolled the dice on the bigger number or taken the sure check?
