The speed dial thing backfired on me once when I accidentally pocket-dialed my vet during a meeting. Might be safer to just save them as a regular contact.

Keep a spare key with a neighbor you trust, not just under the mat. I also leave a printed list of vet contacts and my cat's weird habits, like how she only drinks from the bathroom tap. A quick video call with the sitter to show where the extra food is hidden saves so much panic. It turns a last-minute call into a smooth plan.
