That expert witness I was sure was bluffing actually crushed it on the stand
Had a securities case last spring in Chicago where our expert kept making these wild predictions about stock manipulation patterns. I rolled my eyes so hard during prep, figured he was just padding his invoice. But during cross exam he laid out this exhibit with 47 specific trades timed to the second and the opposing counsel had no comeback. The judge even cited his analysis in the final ruling. Anyone else ever have a hired gun surprise you the other way?

Yeah that "47 specific trades timed to the second" bit is wild. Reminds me how easy it is to write people off until they actually show their work, happens with contractors and doctors all the time too.

Hold on, are you saying someone actually recorded 47 different trades down to the exact second? That sounds almost too precise to be real. I've seen people keep track of their stock moves before, but never with that level of detail. It makes you wonder if they were using some kind of automated tool or if they really sat there with a stopwatch. @skyler_kim15, you're probably right about people not giving credit until they see the receipts. I guess it just goes to show that being organized can really shut up the doubters.
