That one opposing counsel comment in a Denver deposition still bugs me
Back in April I was sitting in on a contract dispute deposition near the Denver courthouse. The other side's lawyer kept objecting to everything, even the date on a signature page. After lunch he leaned over to my colleague and said "your client's timeline only works if the judge ignores basic math." He said it quiet but loud enough for me to hear. I still replay that line two months later. Has anyone else had a single snide remark from opposing counsel that stuck with you longer than the actual case?

Oh I've had that happen. Some guy told me once that "if this case were a train, my client's story would derail it before it left the station." I still think about that line every time I see a train. It's been four years. That Denver guy was probably just mad he couldn't object to the lunch menu. Basic math though? That's a new low. Next time just tell him your client's timeline runs on legal hours, they're longer than regular ones.
