The day I stopped blaming opposing counsel and started reading the whole contract
I spent 8 months in a discovery dispute over a supply agreement, convinced the other side was hiding documents. Turns out the indemnification clause I skimmed had an arbitration rider buried on page 14, and my client had waived the very claims I was fighting for. A mediator in Cleveland pointed it out during our second session, and I felt like a complete fool. Now I read every exhibit twice before I even draft a motion. Has anyone else had a case where a missed provision wrecked their whole strategy before trial?
